Many stores have deals for nurses, respiratory therapists, and other frontline workers. Companies, like local and small businesses, may not advertise discounts. To take advantage of savings, it is never a bad idea to ask when making a purchase. Nurses and other healthcare professionals should carry their ID badges everywhere they go.

If you are shy about asking, here are a just a few special deal hacks for nurses. Check out the list below to find out where nurses get discounts. 

Discounts on Cellphone Plans

Many cellular service providers offer discounts for healthcare professionals. AT&T offers 25% off for providers. Verizon offers $10-25 off per month for nurses and respiratory therapists. Check with your carrier. And if they don’t offer a deal, maybe they will be willing to match these competitor’s offers.

Car insurance Savings

Most insurance agencies offer discounted rates to nurses because they are classified as low-risk. If you are not receiving a discount, call your carrier today. See if they can discount your policy. Savings vary according to the insurance company. You could also get quotes from other companies to see where the best deals are.

Free Roadside Assistance

AAA offers first responders and nurses free roadside assistance in the event of a flat tire, dead battery, or stalled engine. Save the phone number in your phone in case of an emergency.

Travel & Entertainment Discounts

Many hotels and airlines began offering discounts to healthcare providers during the pandemic. Many deals have been extended. Great Wolf Lodge offers up to a 30% discount for nurses with a professional ID. Caesar Rewards offers up to 35% off hotel stays in many states. Hotwire.com is offering a medical professional discount of 10% off one hotel or rental car booking through their site. Six Flags theme parks offer up to 50% off through ID me.

Free Mental Health

Nurses can get access to several mental health resources for free. Through a partnership with the American Nurses Foundation, Happy is offering nurses free support. Download the app or read how to get the first two calls free. Free and low-cost short-term mental health counseling is available to nurses through therapyaide.com. Free life coaching: Francie Perkins is a certified life coach. She is offering nurses a free life coaching session for stressed-out frontline responders and nurses who need motivation. Intelycare offers a free COVID certification for nurses. This free training for professional nurses also comes with one CEU on request. Register for a free account here and add this to your resume. Intivahealth offers free CEU courses to nurses on their site.

Lifestyle Discounts

Did you know that research shows nurses are less healthy than the average adult? Nurses can sign up for a free lifestyle program to address factors such as nutrition, sleep, and physical activity here. Nurses can also access free fitness programs. Glo is offering free yoga, pilates, and meditation classes for nurses to use and share through their site. Virtual classes range from 10 – 30 minutes. Down Dog also offers free fitness classes. Golds Gym offers healthcare professionals and first responders savings with ID me verification. Check with your local gym or fitness provider to see what other discounts are available. Theragun offers healthcare workers 20% off on their site which includes full-spectrum CBD products.

Online Shopping Discounts

Overstock.com offers nurses a free Club O membership that comes with free shipping, rewards, and VIP deals. Yeti offers 20% off of purchases through their website for first responders and nurses when they are verified through ID me. See the details here. Lululemon offers first responders and healthcare workers 25%off in-store with their professional ID badge. Madewell also offers 15% off in stores. Nurses can get free ear-savers for masks by request here. All Seasons Nursewear offers a 20% discount for nurses using their online shopping code NURSE20.
